ABOUT US

Dr. Marina Kaneti is an Assistant Professor at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore. Her primary research areas include Visual Politics, Global Governance, Migration and Immigration, and Political Agency.

Visual Archives of the Silk and Spice Routes aim to creatively apply gathered social science data and findings while sharing knowledge surrounding the heritage, myths, and memories of Silk Road (re)imaginings. Fieldwork gathered from site visits across the region and the globe takes the form of dynamic maps, a media gallery, and themed stories.

This website was developed as part of Dr. Kaneti’s research portfolio with dedicated assistance from her research team, which initially included Bhavya Gupta, Christy Tsang, Ensi (Jenny) Tszie, Ki Chun Ng, Liuyang He, Mathew Kelley, Ramita Iyer, Shien Li, Tanya Belatur, Yee Chern Yap and Zhong Yi Ng. Her current research team also includes Akanksha Narode, Akshita Vijay Nanda, Arief Rizky Bakhtiar, Gao Peng, See Hao Jun, Iliyana Nalbantova, and Isabel Colhurst.
